In a world that's spinning fast,

Where truth and lies collide at last,

We turn to the news for a glimpse,

Of what's happening in our midst.

The headlines flash like neon lights,

As we try to make sense of the night,

The stories they tell, they're all so grim,

Of wars and famine, and deathly whim.

We read of the rich who get richer,

And the poor who are left with less each year,

Of politicians who play games,

And justice that's bought by the highest bidders.

We hear of the sick who can't afford care,

And the dying who can't breathe without flair,

Of children who hunger and cry,

And the elderly who are left to die.

We see the faces of those in pain,

Their stories told in a world so vain,

We feel their sorrow and their strife,

As we try to make sense of this life.

The news is a mirror to our souls,

A reflection of what we've become as a whole,

It shows us the darkness that we fear,

And reminds us that love is always near.

So let us be kind and let us be true,

Let us help those who are in need too,

Let us be the light that we seek to see,

In this world that's spinning so freely.
