You must have heard about the Tithwal Bridge over Kishan Ganga River - one of the five crossing points along the Line of Control which was being shut due to increased Indo-Pak tensions in 2018.

This was a bridge of relief for those Kashmiri families who got separated after Pakistan's cowardly attack was done and some areas of Kashmir were occupied by Pakistan thus called PoK.

Let's look at the history of the bridge, it was first constructed by the British in 1931 to connect the local villages and Of course for their smooth trade. But in the year 1948, the bridge was destroyed when Pakistan attempted to occupy Kashmir but again in the year 1988, the bridge was reconstructed by both countries. It was only in the year 2005 the bridge when the Bilateral ties were strengthening the bridge was opened so that the separated families can at least meet their relatives.

This bridge is one of the five crossing points along the LoC.

The residents of the village are mostly Pahadis and Gurjars who live in a fear of those Pakistani Snipers on the other side of the bridge, as if anyone visits the bridge the Indian Side informs The Pakistani Snipers so that they don't shoot. The villagers are also afraid of the shelling that happens very often which destroys their fields and houses as well.

The local people want the bridge to be reopened so that they can meet their relatives living across the bridge. But my concern is not whether the bridge would be reopened or not.

My concern is when will our government take action and bring PoK back to Bharat ???

When will our government fix the issue which was created amid a lot of confusion... The Issue of PoK???

Once we fix this issue of PoK there won't be any bridge required...

So I appeal to the government and every citizen of India to take up this issue so that we can again create "Akhand Bharat - Attock se Cuttack tak" this would be an end to all the sorrows of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters who've been separated during the black phase of PoK. Once again it's time for "Akhand Bharat"
