Mahabaleshwar- Abode Of Soaring Peaks

This is the experience of my trip to Mahabaleshwar- one of the exquisite hill stations of Maharastra. This was my trip for the Ganesh Chaturthi vacations. The plan was made in the late-night just before the day of our departure to Mahabaleshwar and we make late-night plans because it is our usual way of planning to visit places. So we left Bangalore the next day at the dawn so that we won't make the journey tiring. We have an exclusive national highway from Bangalore-Mumbai which will make the journey to any of the places on our way to Mumbai extremely accessible. Through the highway, we reached our first destination that is Belgaum by evening. Actually, through this exclusive highway our 500km journey to Belgaum is a 6hrs journey, but because of a lot of restoring works going on in the highway the journey consumes 9hrs.

We had a halt in Belgaum at my granny's house, celebrated the festival the next morning, and left for our next destiny at 12 p.m. After you reach Satra you should divert your way from the highway. The winding roads, the feeling u get in your stomach when there's a down way road are all just beautiful experiences for a hill station lover like me. We reached Mahabaleshwar in the evening. . But we didn't while away the smallest amount of time we had by taking rest but visited Asia's 2nd largest tableland. The wind gushing through its way, uplifting us a little, and moving us about our places was frightening. The tableland was just an eye-catching sight.

Then we went to the homestay which we had booked. The sight of the Sahyadri range was just overwhelming from our homestay. We relaxed, ordered pakoras, gobi, and many starters and then had our dinner and went for a peaceful sleep.

We woke up late the next morning because we were extremely tired. Had a Fresh up, had tea and breakfast, and left for visiting the places. We started our day by visiting Mahabaleshwar's famous 'Shiva Temple', had the 'darshan' of the lord which is a self-emerged 'linga' 500 years back and went to the most important place the- 'ugamasthan' of the Krishna river. I was enthralled by the tranquillity of the place. The Krishna emerges in the Krishna Bai temple which is very ancient and flows down the hills and opens into the great river. Then we went to the Savitri point followed by the Arthur seat where we saw the splendid view of mountain ranges visible as a chain of waves. Then we visited the Venna lake, had a boat ride, had a view of the lake's serenity, and enjoyed the moment.

Most of the places were waterfalls which we had visited numerous times at many places we had been to. By the time we had finished visiting places the dusk had approached and had our snacks and we left for Belgaum. We reached Belgaum at 12 in the midnight, celebrated my father's birthday the next day and left for Bangalore.
