KAPUNKA
KAPUNKA
Not very long ago, Raja Indraverma had a huge empire in the state of Mizoram called the Mezo empire. It was rich, beautiful and flourishing. It was another world with sparkling butterflies and shining bees hovering over magical flowers. The petals of the flowers changed colour every hour.
It was such a magical place and the biggest magic here was that the king posessed superpowers.
But the king was getting old. Mezo needed a new king and only a person with superpowers could become the king. The empire was under the curse and Sage Hoshi claimed that only a king with superpowers could save it. If the new king had no superpowers, the Mezo Empire would turn into rocks.
Raja Indraverma was very worried. A dip in the Kapunka river flowing at one end if the empire could get anyone superpowers. But getting to the river was full of challenges. It was calling for death. So, the announcements were made and the date for the Mahadivas was decided.
On Mahadiwas, only three men accepted the challenge. The journey to the river was divided into three phases. The first phase contained of one eyed slimy ghouls. They used to squeeze a person until he died .
Agasthya, Arav and Ahil entered the arena and were at once attacked by the ghouls . The gh
ouls slammed them, crushed them, threw them over . After fighting bravely for hours , they managed defeating the ghouls together .
But Ahil was so scared, he left the competition for life .
Arav and Agasthya looked at each other challengingly and went forward. In the next two phases , they fought through a shower of poisonous arrows and flying fire dragons . The dragons had eyes as sharp as an eagle, claws that of a lion and teeth like tusks of an elephant. They could be defeated not with might but with brains. Aarav cheated and lured the dragons towards Agasthya and hid himself behind a rock. Agasthya played mind games with them and defeated all of them by making them fight with each other .
As they were about to take a dip in Kapunka, they saw an old man being crushed by a dragon . Agasthya ran to save him and Arav took advantage and jumped into the river . After all , that would make him the king !
But to Agasthya’s surprise , the old man was not an ordinary man but Sage Hoshi himself.
It is not only bravery but a good heart that makes a good king. Agasthya was the new king, blessed by Sage Hoshi with extra ordinary powers.
Even though Arav took a dip in Kapunka , he could not get any superpowers .
