I Am A Successful Person!

Right from my childhood, I have always seen people measuring another person's success. There is always this 'success measuring tape' tied to many minds and it is used then and there. Success is normally measured with four to five things and they are like owning a house, a car, a good amount of money in bank, marriage, and career. When someone possesses all these things, others are like, "Wow! what a successful person."

But a hell amount of questions arise within me when I think of what success actually is. Do we need a checklist to define success? Should we attach success to the material? And above all does anyone have the right to measure the success of another person? No, not at all. It is different for every person and only that person can define what success means to him or her in life. Not just material, if someone had reached a great height in their career, we can only say he or she had a successful career, we cannot assume it as a successful life. It is thoroughly private.

The hard truth is that without knowing it is the individual's soul choice to define success, many runs in search of something thinking that if it is attained they will be successful. But they forgot that if it is attained they will only be called successful, but being really successful is a question mark.

Well, to me, in my life, in my choice, being successful is being happy. I define success in terms of happiness. And yes I am a happy woman and hence successful too! I take care of my husband and kid, I visit my dearest relatives then and there. I try to keep my mind and soul fresh and happy. I live a very normal happy life. But still yeah, just because I am a happy person, I am a successful person!
