Growing up is optional

As it's said Growing old is compulsory but growing up is optional. The various stages of life give innumerable experiences and memories. It's always human tendency to look for the next stage of life. Childhood gives lots of memories which we cherish. But as kids/teens we look forward for independence and earning status.

When we grow up and make career, we look forward to marry and settle down. Furrther higher positions in job put us in a different world of stress and anxiety! But here after, we start seeing middle age and then old age. We fear getting old,we fear losing power!! We fear losing near & dear ones. This stage is quite traumatic. Many don't even realize that career life is just a part of life and not the whole life itself. People lose their health and peace of mind in this stage. Here it's required for us to grow up and mature. Learn to zoom out and look at the life and direction in which it's going. Here we need to take some really good decisions to enable us for furture old age!! But how many are interested in growing up!! How many of us can look at the big picture?? Hardly few.. if we are bestowed with longevity, then old age should not become a burden of wrong decisions. So let's Grow up than just growing old!!
