I am at my hometown and its 7 in the morning. I get up early as my usual habit and sit in the balcony to have my coffee. Only bird gave me company because rest everyone in the house and nearby houses are still sleeping.

Street is empty with occasional spotting of some dogs and cows. They come from one end and disappear from another.

Both time and people seem in no hurry.

Slowly, people start stepping out.. for morning walk.

Next door neighbour uncle steps out in his balcony and very warmly waves at me and the routine questions follow- When did you come? All good? you will stay for sometime right? followed by almost robotic responses from me.

Aunt is up too and by now they have invited me to come home for breakfast. After some negotiation, We settle for visit in the evening for Diwali sweets.

And now mom and dad are up. And now she will prepare ginger tea which they will a number of times again during the day.. every time when someone comes to the house, be it family, friend, maid or anyone else.

And slowly the day will start unfolding.

There is no rush to do anything, to reach anywhere.

Everyone is content and at peace with limited means but abundance of time for self and loved ones.

And I am left wondering.
