Day 13 of Lockdown #COVID- 19
Day 13 of Lockdown #COVID- 19
6th April 2020
Diary of a new mother
My entire series of these 21 days will be based on my experience of being in this lockdown and staying home as a first time mother of a 5 month old baby, Anvay.
Dear Diary,
Bangalore's weather was perfect today. It was very humid during the day, so much that we had to make Anvay wear a sleeveless shirt and shorts. But the weather completely changed in the evening. It was cloudy and windy at 4 PM itself. We could feel the first summer showers approaching. Yd was very excited as he wanted Anvay to witness his first rainfall. He wouldn’t understand much but he could definitely feel the cool breeze and feel fresh. We took him to the terrace in the babywearing bag just to make him feel good and enjoy the cool breeze. As the wind was
blowing he swayed from side just like his soft wavy curls. We could sense happiness on his face and we were so glad that we could show him the typical Bangalore weather and make him feel the awesomeness right from our home. The clouds were fluffy and beautiful - the sun was shining bright and its light peeked from behind the clouds- the birds were flying back to their nest- the trees with the beautiful yellow flowers were dancing to the strong wind that was blowing fast and slowly came the pitter-patter rain drops. We rushed in immediately but made Anvay witness the rainfall. It was a perfect power-play of nature. The humidity had vanished and so did our dull lockdown mood. Every day had become very mundane and finding the normal things interesting took a lot of effort. The changed weather gave us something new to feel great about!
I was continuing with my daily stretching exercises and had also started modifying my diet by including more healthy options and increasing the intake of fruits, vegetables, and fibers. Thanks to the lockdown, because of the regular visit by the street vendors I was able to buy a wide variety of fresh fruits also.
