“Capitalism is an economic system in which a country’s trade, industry, profit, etc is controlled by private companies instead of the people who put in time and effort working for those companies.” (Kelly,1). Capitalism can often be referred to as “greed” and many capitalists think greed is good as it results in profit. The downside of capitalism is that it can divide us as communities, it is exploitive. Why do people support capitalism? Capitalists believe in a few points such as “Economic freedom leads to political freedom and having a state owned by means of production can lead to authoritarianism”(Kelly,1). Opposers say it is exploitive because a capitalist gains more power than others which leads to social issues such as inequality of wealth, resources, and power.

Once Jesus said, “Whoever loves money never has enough, whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income” (Ecclesiastes 5:10). This quote refers to greed mostly and tells us that a person who always expects or wants more will never be satisfied with what they have at the current moment. Greed is something that can be controlled by an individual themselves. Research shows that many times greed or ego may occur due to stress and when there is no calmness in the body. Something that everyone could do is meditate every day and spread positivity to overcome this issue which will help you as well as others.

Capitalism can be referred to as greed for power and money apart from other burning issues. We could fix capitalism is by providing higher wages, clean and hygienic working conditions, and sharing a part of the profit with the workers. The other ways are a contribution by capitalists to social responsibility for nation building. The biggest example of the contribution could be building charitable hospitals and schools, clean drinking water facilities for people living below the poverty line, sanitation, and subsidized food. These ideas put in action would fix capitalism and the issue of inequality among the working class.
