Flaws..!

Remember how we were taught in those innumerable videos, quotes, and photos to accept, embrace and move on with the flaws we were born with and have been living with.

Now as we move to the end of yet another year, where most of us would begin jotting down the innumerable resolutions that we would be planning for the coming year, I don’t think there could be a better time than this to look into ourselves and introspect as to how have we embraced our flaws all this while or worked to overcome them.

How many times haven’t we come across people – our very close friends, colleagues and someone of our own family – who end up losing their temper or get upset for really petty things?

And the way they justify their flaw by saying, “This is the way I am, short tempered and moody!”

Give a slightly deep thought to it.

There might definitely be such flaws in each one of us, just like the beautiful spots on the moon, which make us look imperfect and yet so complete. But how many of such flaws are worth carrying them to our grave. And in such process, not only we carry a risk of stumbling upon in our journey of Life, but also we might endanger the compatibility with the ones who matter the most to us. Wouldn’t getting over such flaws once and for all make our own lives and that of the people around us much easier?

When we try justifying our flaws to others when asked about our anger, ego, inexpressiveness and other such flaws by saying, “This is the way I am, short tempered and moody!”, doesn’t it call for a better response from us? It might be sounding cool when one tries to put it in act the quotes that he has read about staying original and not worrying about the flaws he’s got in him. But is it really worth taking pride in, by telling someone that you are short tempered and that’s the way you always were?

With the innumerable strings attached to us, like the family we’ve got, our friends and other groups of people we need to get along with, in this journey of Life, don’t you think it’s necessary to keep the compatibility intact with at least the ones who matter to us?

So pull yourself out of the preconceived notions about being fine with the Flaws.

Not all Flaws are worth Flaunting. Some are just there to bring the best out of you.

To give you a chance to come out as a better version of yourself.

So this new year give up all the jotting down of resolutions and give yourself a proper chance. A chance to be a better You. A chance which lets you bring out yourself with the best combination of Perfections and Flaws..!

This New Year doesn’t do something substantial.

Rather do any little thing which could bring a substantial change.

Give up on Anger, Ego and Impatience.

There’s more peace in Happiness, Selflessness and Serenity.

Do embrace your flaws, but with a will to change them – if need be.

That’s how I’d prefer embracing my Flaws!
