Uncertainty?? When is the school going to reopen? How the syllabus is going to get covered? Exams on hold ….children at home.

This is the current situation in everybody’s mind may be a student, parent or as an educator. This pandemic Covid19 has brought life to shut in all spheres. Myself as a mentor here and mum of two lovely Treamisians, the situation is the same. The sessions have ended suddenly, keeping in mind the safety of children as utmost priority. I do miss my pupils a lot as there was no time to give them a send-off too.

All the year-end planning and activities have come to hold and what prevails is uncertainty.

But we all must not lose hope and wish for the best to come out and life goes back to track.

So before the children are back to school, there is a good enough gap and we must make judicious use of it. Please spend a lovely family time which we often miss doing in this hustle and bustle of life. Though it’s a stay at home situation right now please indulge yourself into the world of reading along with your children. There’s a plethora on online reading substance …just have a grab of it.

Allow children to learn some of the life lessons at home, giving a helping hand to elderly with their age-appropriate jobs. Let them explore their creativity, maybe though story writing , singing, dancing, arts or crafts skills etc (just to name a few). Board games can serve as a boon to keep children busy and let the child within us alive too.

Academically, give children a revision of topics covered so far in school, work out on their basics and areas of improvement, so that there is a readiness in them for upcoming academic years. We the mentors and school team here are there to help in any possible way and just at a reach of phone call or mail.

Keeping all this in mind, let's try to keep the students calmer and comfortable for starting a new academic year and make them ready for back to school….

And we would be waiting for the fabulous rush of parents, books and stationery and reminders from Admin and of course the lovely bunch of students. Trying to remember their names, making their seating arrangement, settling them down, going through expectations and start of a new session 2020-21. Back to school!!
