A Tale of Lost Innocence

A Tale of Lost Innocence

My name is not important because my identity does not matter for this blog. What matters most is the question— "WHY?"

This is not just a question; it’s a harsh reality of our society.

We all know that a woman can make a house a paradise, but the same woman can also turn it into hell. But have we ever thought about who suffers the most when a woman leaves her home? The husband who built his world around her, or the children who saw their mother as their entire world?

This story is from when I was 18 years old. A man in our neighborhood got married and brought his wife home. They belonged to a poor family, but their home was full of happiness. Years passed, and they had two children— a son and a daughter with a five-year age gap. Both of them studied in a government school, with dreams in their eyes.

Then, suddenly, a storm came into their lives and shattered everything. The children's mother left them alone and ran away with another man. The entire neighborhood had just one question— "WHY?"

When Childhood is stolen

The 7-year-old girl suddenly understood that she had to take charge.

Waking up early, sweeping the floor, cooking, taking care of her 4-year-old brother— these were not normal childhood tasks. These were the responsibilities of a lost childhood.

We all saw her mistakes, but we never saw her struggles.

A Blast and a Child’s Cry

One day, she was cooking lentils. Suddenly, a loud explosion was heard— the pressure cooker had burst.

Thankfully, both kids were safe.

But that night, the father yelled at her, "You’re old enough now! Why can’t you do things properly?"

She was just 7 years old.

The Real Face of Society

We don’t care about someone’s pain. We only see their mistakes.

We never wondered why a 7-year-old started lying.

We never wondered why she started stealing.

We never wondered why she was managing a household alone.

We just thought— "She’s a bad girl, a thief, a liar."

But the truth is, she was just a little girl who lost her childhood.
