Words I Wrote

Scattering,

Slipping,

I bound the letters,

Closed my fists,

And caught the words.

 

I lent them meaning,

Underpinnings,

I gave them feelings

With a fiery blaze.

 

Words, once they

Had an identity,

Began to deviate,

Veer away from set patterns,

They began to know themselves

From the new meanings

They assumed.
