Witness

I have been a witness to life,

A newborns cry,

A survivors tear.

I have been a witness to love,

The care of a mother,

The protection of a father.

I have been a witness to hatred,

The wrath of the past,

The curse of a ‘Friend’.

I have been a witness to sadness,

The loss of a loved one,

The realization of being myself.

I have been a witness to happiness,

To hold the hand I love,

To let friendship define me.

I have been a witness to loneliness,

To be alone in the dark,

To hate my presence in it.

I have been a witness to passion,

To sing for hours,

To live my talent.

I have been a witness to death ,

My mother in my arms,

To feel dead. Inside.

Yes.I have witnessed it all.
