Wish you were there.

Wish you were there.

I remember you O mother,

    When in trouble.

   When someone trounces me,

   When someone ditches me,

   When someone forces me.

When I do not know what to do,

O mother I wish you were there,

   To guide,

   To shelter,

   To comfort

To teach me the ways of life.

Alas, I am all alone in this walk of life,

No brother can take your place,

No wife can guide you as well as you,

No friend can I confide with,

Not even God's prayer brings me peace.

I dream of being with you,

   Comfortable,

   Without worries of life,

   Without worries of being lost,

   Without worries about going wrong,

   Without worries of being punished

For you always

   Comforted,

   Guided,

   Forgave,

   Kept vigil,

And above all, you

   smiled all through the pain,

that we and the world forced on you,

   Relentlessly strived for our good,

I just dream of being with you,

Let the dream of being with you give me the courage,

To bear the burden of life,

To sail through the life smiling.

O mother, I wish you were here.
