Wings

Wings

Cocooned, in the cold gloomy nights of the scary woods.

The Caterpillar twisted and turned and choked.

In the painful hoarse, the nightmarish life withstood.

But during day, the Caterpillar smiled. Teary eyes, she cloaked.

Agonized, submitting to unfathomable pain and lurid nights.

Already dead inside, she decided to suffer one last time.

But, just before the end, she saw a distant, feeble light.

And as she opened her eyes the blaze became more sublime.

She pulverized the cocoon, with her immeasurable gleam.

Ended the dismal winters, and she brought her own spring.

Dispersing the ambrosial scent, turning the nightmares to dreams.

The Caterpillar turned into a Butterfly, and now she flies with her own wings!
