What has become of the spirit of our times - a poem
What has become of the spirit of our times - a poem
What has become of the spirit of our times,
Brother now stands estranged from brother.
The sanctity of relationships has crossed its bounds,
The soul of humanity lies wounded and bleeding.
In the blind race of modernity, man himself is lost,
Caught in a storm of comforts, humanity fades away.
Life has turned into a strange and endless race,
Politics has seized the very soul of faith.
Devotion to the nation has become mere display,
Disrespect toward its true sons is now commonplace.
The common man stands wounded by deceitful schemes,
Falsehood reigns supreme, while truth is lost in desolate lands.
Shame has vanished from our eyes,
Values weep over their own fading existence.
What has become of the spirit of our times,
Brother now stands estranged from brother.
