What Achievement Means to Me

We struggle night and day

To keep our miseries at bay

Fraught in the race to success

We always feel distressed

Why are we so insensitive to self?

Why can’t we applaud ourselves?

Why we always have to compare?

Why we always live in fear?

What is an achievement for me?

Is it prosperity in every field?

Is wealth an accomplishment for me?

What about my brilliance or buoyancy?

To be gifted with all the senses

With head held high and no offences

With a heart filled with love and integrity

With an existence that respects sincerity

With humility and gratitude as my reward

I don’t need verbal or corporal sword

That’s an achievement for me!
