Water: The Elixir Of Life
Water: The Elixir Of Life
As the slanting rays of the sun fell;
The poor, withered plants, their suffering I could tell:
Comforted them with the nectariferous water,
Thirstily they drank, not bothering further.
Imbibing the water, rising from strength to strength;
Thanked me to no end, no matter to what length—
Nodding their heads gently in the breeze:
The sight embalmed my bruised heart and set my mind at ease.
Inhaling the sweet, warm smell;
Of the wet earth, as the water fell—
Thinking of days spent without a drop of water,
I realised its essence, how much it did matter,
As I sprinkled and bathed them in water,
As the water fell on them, pitter- patter;
Rejoiced, I could do such a good deed—
Caring for nature, granting their very need.
