Today, it came as a shock.

Today, my colleague, bright and benevolent, got called back to the maker.

Today, they declared he suffered a massive cardiac arrest.

Today, he was gone with more than half his life still at rest.

Today, his son had no answers.

Today, his wife had no questions.

Today, I realized the strength of a woman.

Today, I realized the fragility of life.

Today, I realized the importance of life.

Today, I realized, what we chase has no meaning,

Today, I realized, what has meaning, has been ignored completely.

Today, I realized the value of family.

Today, I realized the emptiness of everything else.

Today, I see meaning, in the love of my love's eyes.
