The Voyage of Life
The Voyage of Life
Standing on a boat in the middle of an endless ocean
I can see a billion ahead
Travelling bravely and embracing the ocean though knowing that each boat will sink.
But some I see in a mood of gloom
Thinking about the turbulences caused by the terrorizing waves
And jumping to their fates into the ocean,
Resigning from the life in an act of brave cowardice,
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the beauty of the sun
rising like a flower, opening and gifting its petals unto the world.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the warmth bestowed upon us by the tangerine star.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the beautiful batik
Created by the sun’s rays hitting the ocean floor.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the blush of scarlet in the setting sky.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the turquoise-blue streams
Wounding their merry way through the limestone rocks in the forests.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the euphonious laughter of their loved ones.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the memories of the paths they traveled with them.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the gift of eternal hope.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate the fishes of gold
that will be provided by the ocean during the course.
Forgetting that they need to celebrate as there is always something beautiful
at the end of the horizon which will give them a reason to continue.
