The Tale Of This And That
The Tale Of This And That
The tale of 'This' and 'That'
- In not very faraway a land,
- Lived two personas; 'this' and 'that'.
- Since time immemorial, this was forever chiding his kismet,
- In jealous awe of that, forever dampening his own spirit.
- A few light years into this same humdrum broadway,
- This and that, came around here looking for a place to stay.
- Here I feel obliged to inform,
- As is but the raconteurs' norm,
- Since then, this has been your guest,
- Whilst that keeps moving and is currently with your latest Ms.Blessed.
- You find this to be just not 'good enough';
- His every good turn met with your raucous rebuff
- Praising nineteen to the dozen, You're forever extolling that's virtues,
- About how happy he makes his host, if only you could have him in lieu.
- Now, just for a moment, let's go back to the la la land,
- Don't tell me you've forgotten; the home of this and that.
- For a caveat worth mentioning
- Was conveniently skimmed over in the beginning:
- Unbeknownst to this, that did mirror his sham, peered through this's window
- Through smoke and mirrors, for a taste of the greener flimflam.
- I hope it's struck you now, that isn't really the paragon.
- But this might just be,so get a grip on what's going on.
- Give your all to this, every ounce and inch,
- Embrace it with all your might, it's all about falling in sync.
- If still the escapades of that, inspite of this harangue, make you green-eyed,
- Your this is also somebody else's that, is something you've got to internalise.
- So, Quit badgering after that,
- This is what you have a shot at.
- It's a truth too true,
- Not that,
- Out of reach,
- But this,
- Yours to keep,
- Is the key
- To your bliss.
