The Story Of You And I

The Story Of You And I

You know gold is as worthless to me as it is to you

You know I count stars at night too.

You know I notice how you wipe your nose

After biting on a chilly

And how you curl those lips into a smile

When I am being silly.

The seven constellations in the sky tell a different story about us

The planets revolving around the sun have a different argument altogether

The religions scream out another quest for our bleeding hearts

But I, white dwarf, the coldest star emitting the dimmest light.

And you, Sirius, the warmest star after the Sun

We didn't follow the rules of magnetic forces to come together

Cause we are similar in ways we never imagined

And different in ways that suits us best.

I take coffee black

He likes it white.

He prefers spoons and forks

But I never have the time.

He likes it rough in bed

And I can't say that I mind.

So once I thought how did this happen?

Was it me High on Ruskin Bond

Or was it you all awkward standing in a corner?

I don't know what removed the friction between us

But I am glad that the inertia inside of me didn't notice you slipping into the most important part of the lexicon I use in everyday life.

I wonder if it was how you bit on a momo

Or was it me failing to notice that your adam's apple doesn't protrude out

Was it that we both had a sweet tooth

Or was it when you said "F**K you!"

And I said "I know you want to"

Or how our hands intertwined together with awkward clumsy gestures every now and then

But then, I wasn't looking for perfection

Thank goodness neither were you!

So I know exactly when the story of you and I started to weave

But I don't know, if It will ever be complete.

I don't complain or cry

Or sigh or deny,

But yes, the stories of those constellations and planets and the quest for bleeding hearts

might not let us have our infinity

But yes, it will be a prodigious part

Of the amount of infinty we get to share together.

Ah yes! I would hear you say 'no' a million times

when I propose to you saying "would you mind being my boyfriend?"

I am sorry I couldn't do it any better.

I would relive that moment again and again

When you held that ring box in your hand

And I was only to find a sd card in it.

I was so glad you didn't go for usual ways

Cause I know I will find a ring when it comes to that. I will, right?

So, I wrote you a poem

But I forgot the point.

Ah yes, my point is that

Maybe this is pointless

And it won't last till infinity

But I guess neither of us want to live more than eighty years of age

Or...err

Do you?

So when I see the constellations in the sky talking about the story of you and I

And the palnets are busy supporting their arguments and proving a point

And religions readying us for a blood fight

I look at you

and admist all this choas I steal a kiss

And I smile

And say "F**k them all, we will write the story of you and I!"
