The Story of Snow White

The Story of Snow White

Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom,

The queen was going to become a royal mum.

All around there was eagerness,

Everyone was waiting to see the baby’s face.

Soon, they heard the baby’s cry,

But alas! The queen was fated to die.

All the excitement died down,

Not a single happy sound.

Seeing the kingdom so dull,

The King wanted to make everything normal.

He went out to the balcony and held the baby up,

Just like a lion cub

The baby girl had beautiful black hair, rosy lips and a face so bright,

The King decided to name her Snow White.

Everyone knew this was the perfect name,

And that Snow would grow up to be a pretty dame.

Snow White was a girl so bubbly and cheerful,

And of course, she was beautiful.

The king, however, began to grow lonely,

He had lost the queen whom he had loved so dearly.

One of his concerned servants advised him,

That he should get another queen.

If not for him, at least for Snow White’s sake,

This was the decision he had to take.

He chose a dark-skinned woman named Lana May,

And married her the very next day,

She was smiling, looking all sweet and kind,

But no one knew she was evil in mind.

Soon Snow grew up into a lovely damsel,

With a crown, a gown and a huge castle.

And she was the perfect heir,

Giving her parents love and care.

Her father equally loved her back,

But her stepmother wanted evil on her track.

So, she hired a butcher strong,

To make him do something very wrong.

The butcher, however, was a man so kind,

He did everything with a righteous mind.

He planned something with his wife,

To save the beloved princess’s life.

He left Snow White in front of a house neat,

And went to the palace with bones and meat.

The queen, happy that Snow was dead,

Happily, ate and went to bed.

Meanwhile, in the forest, Snow was getting tired,

Because of the heat, she heavily perspired.

She knocked on the tiny door,

And all she heard was a tiny snore.

Tired of knocking, she barged inside,

Staring at her were eyes open wide.

These were the eyes of seven little men,

And their house was seeming more like a den.

Lying all around, there were fruit peels and overgrown hair,

The little men just did not seem to care.

Snow White gathered courage and asked with all her might,

Whether in the house, she could spend the night.

The little men agreed to let her stay,

If only she worked night and day.

Snow said yes and got to work,

Just like a newly hired clerk.

She cooked food so yummy and nice,

For dinner, she had made soup and rice.

The little men were very happy with her,

Especially with the fact that she was not an amateur.

The little men soon went out for work,

After warning Snow of the dangers that lurked.

But Snow White, so dainty and carefree,

Paid as little attention as could be.

Meanwhile, in the palace, in a secret chamber,

The evil queen had a lovely, bewitching mirror.

She asked the mirror on the wall,

Who was the fairest of them all?

The mirror meekly replied,

That it was Snow White.

The evil queen utterly filled with rage,

Immediately called for her trusted mage.

Together they brewed a magic potion,

Made from lizards and bats and fish from the ocean.

The evil queen added it on an apple,

And for a side serving, she carried along some pineapple.

She knew that on consuming it no one could ever wake,

A bite of the apple was all it had to take.

She quickly hurried to the little men’s’ hut,

And took a shortcut.

She offered the apple to Snow White,

And told her to take a bite.

But Snow was girl so clever,

Was she going to be fooled by the evil queen? Never.

She went into the kitchen and cut the apple in half,

And gave a notorious laugh.

She made some apple juice,

And also add some extract from the tree of spruce.

She forced the evil queen to drink it,

And the queen, her crime, had to now admit.

Snow White said she knew all along,

And went away singing a happy song.

The evil queen first inflated,

And the all of a sudden, just evaporated.

Just then, the little men came home,

The whole day they did nothing but roam.

Snow white explained all that had happened and then hurriedly said goodbye,

For she had to return to her kingdom up high.

However, on reaching the castle she heard news very sad,

The good old king had just passed away-her beloved dad.

She announced after she had quieted down the scene,

That she was going to be the new queen.

The people cheered and congratulated her,

While she entered with a royal coat of fur.

She would rule wisely for the years to come,

For, now the queen she had become.

And that is happily ever after my friends,

Exactly where this story ends!
