The Protocol of Life
The Protocol of Life
The sun comes up every morning burning bright
The moon is responsible for lighting up the night
As humans, we have feelings, thoughts, and a voice
But are we individuals, do we really have a choice?
Our world where being part of the society is critical
Has programmed us to be less human and more mechanical
Be part of the system if you want to last
Be different and you are an outcast
The rights and the wrongs of this world are already defined
Exploring is forbidden and thus there is nothing to find
Life has a protocol that each one of us has to follow
A bitter truth that, without thinking, we swallow
This world doesn't need humans, it needs machines
The same drama playing over and over on its screens
But to me, it somehow doesn't make any sense
It nullifies the whole concept of having an experience
I observe the rise and fall of waves in the ocean and wonder
Do they have any rule to form a tide together and then sunder?
Does the wind blow in a predefined direction and at a decided speed?
And is there a protocol for the trees to grow the same from every seed
I want to ride the ocean rather than being one of the anchored ships
To think with my heart and mind and not some pre-programmed chips
I am not a rat and thus this race is not mine to run
Trying to best others rather than yourself has never been fun
I am a free bird and the enormous sky is my playground
I spread my wings wide and even by the wind I am not bound
I make my own decisions and set up my own trends
And when I find myself, that is when my journey ends
