The Pain of Poet
The Pain of Poet

Poets are supposed to be
expressive and dangerous
Expressive for others
by endangering their lives
They weave words with ripped souls
and translate the bemused gospel of life
into a lucid and readable art
Not all the things they write
are as easy as they sound
Sometimes they have to visit places
they don't wish to
They have to reveal
long held musings on a paper
which once were chained
into the darkest dungeons
Sometimes they have to chase down
the memory of the night before,
the kind of memory you wish to forget
The art demands pain
But who knows better than a poet,
that some words are best left in vain
