The Monsoon Carnival
The Monsoon Carnival
As the first blobs of rain quench the thirst of the arid environs
With downpour so copious
The gentle breeze makes the trees sway and the birds chirp away
With a tone so joyous
Cometh the monsoons, cometh the moment to hop and dance
As the nature turns gracious
Time to pull out the colorful umbrellas and rainy coats
From the cobwebbed attic’ chaos
As the lanes flood with water and citizens just wade through
Coz there’s no boat to charter
Children get busy making boats of paper and set them sail
With happy faces which glitter
Sitting by the window they watch the rain drops bounce
Making sounds “Pitter Patter”
With life getting slower in pace and milder in tone
Its a season to get into slumber
As the ether turns grey with clouds so thick, the Sun gets relief
And plays hide and seek
Young souls romanticize and the elders soak in the cool breeze
As the roads resemble a creek
Cometh the monsoons, cometh the moment to jump with joy
And take a rainy trip
Time to spread the arms and get drenched in the heavenly outburst
As the temperature takes a dip
As the nature gets painted in green, vegetables mushroom
Providing greater variety to consume
Poets get into the writing mode and actors remain lost
In the rain of emotions that find vent through this gloom
It’s a Celebration of nature, as the cattle find rich pasture
And children have fun in rain with funny gesture
A Climate Carnival it is, it makes us experience heaven
As we close our eyes and feel the drops so pure in nature
