The forgotten path
The forgotten path

Years ago, diary I wrote,
And in it I buried my heart;
Now I open it and find,
A long forgotten path
A few notes here and there,
Of the scolding’s I got and the mischief I met;
And I read on,
Rediscovering the forgotten path
Pressed within its pages I find,
A single leaf from my mango tree
Its smell still entrances me,
And leads me down the forgotten path
A hundred memories there are;
Scribbled in my childish scrawl
Yet to discover, yet to see;
What I left behind down the forgotten path
