The Escape

The Escape

I lived!

I lived in a world full of complications

or what do we say, ' formalities '.

I lived amongst the people divided by money,

a class of sophisticated, a section 'unnamed'.

I lived to witness the ongoing struggles,

of feminists, sexists, hypocrites and gays.

I lived in a world with no understanding,

where my 'Friends' told me that logic died years ago.

I lived in a world full of hatred yet they seek peace,

where everyone's fighting yet no one knows whose fault it is.

I lived in a world where everyone wanted to be smart but no one wanted to face the mirror,

sparing themselves while pointing out others.

I lived in a world where people loved puppies but human babies were being killed,

where people fought for animal rights but no one cared about human beings.

I lived in a world where rubbing their bodies against each other's was their utmost priority,

Love? Ah! It was lost somewhere in the nature,

maybe thats 'freedom'.

I lived in a world where one ate and thousands watched,

Oh! After all he was someone really important.

I lived!

Until I realised!

I realised that I was drowning in a pool of bogusness,

where people pretend to shine in the pit of darkness.

I realised that the end was near,

as they were taught not to fear anything,

not even the act of killing,

and where taboos were becoming normal daily rituals.

I realised that the destruction was coming my way,

as from a simple beginning till date,

it has only gotten worse.

I lived, I realised, I gave up,

such was the situation.

I gave up on them, on you, on everyone,

as it was impossible to change

your incorrigible minds.

So I left that world holding hands with 'simplicity',

to wander through a lonesome yet peaceful path.

It's a land of wandering poets,

of nightingales and unicorns,

where you can see through the water droplets,

glimmer of the shining sun.

Where there are giant peacocks,

and rain comes with a musical wind,

where at night in the starry river,

you can see the moon floating by.

Here I feel fresh in the morning and in the night too,

smoke is only something which the clouds do.

Here I sleep under a banyan tree until dawn,

and I dream of the endless times where worries are foregone.

So let me be and let me sleep,

and never try to disturb me with your woeful heave,

after all it's a land of dreamers,

where now I actually

live.
