The Drenched Soul
The Drenched Soul

With a cup of coffee in my hand
And a heart full of nostalgia
I stood in the balcony-
The sky was crying all my tears,
The fake smile had covered for years.
Every time the cloud collided with a thunder
My heart collapsed in silence-Why? I wonder
Lighting flashed across my eyes
Flashback brought back those familiar cries.
I stretched out my arms-
In the rain
With a tight hug -It washed away my pain.
The petrichor of the first rain enchanted me
A boy was making paper boats-I could see.
The song of the falling raindrops made my soul dance
I kept gazing at the sky as if it was my last chance.
