The Dark Labyrinth

The Dark Labyrinth

I must bleed these thoughts to paper,
turn the silence into sound.

For it they linger in the quiet,
they fester underground.

They dwell within a labyrinth,
a dark and hollow space.

I fear the twisted corners,
and yet I recognize this place.

For, I have walked the dark so long
it greets me like a friend.

A forsaken sort of sanctuary
where the shadows never end.

I've spent a lifetime pouring out
the joy I had in store.

Until my mind refused to spark,
and produce no more

The chemistry has faded,
the well has run too dry.

How can I light up your world,
when i have forgotten how to fly?
