The Changing Of The Seasons

Learned have I that love and life are ever-changing

and I have learned, we must change with it

or love and life will leave us behind

like the changing of the seasons from autumn to spring,

spring to summer, and summer to fall and fall to winter

we must learn to change with the changing of the seasons

 

I have heard such simple minds speak

I wish our love could be the same

as it was when our eyes first gazed

upon the blossoming of our new love

 

But one forgets that values,

morals and ethics change as we age

throughout the time, I believed

that the failure of love and marriage

comes from the lack of education

 

We must study to be a scientist

you must study to be a teacher

but we always seem to fall

upon the most important study of all;

the study of the values of love.

 

Love and life are ever-changing

and we must learn to change with it

or love and life will leave us behind

for if we do not change we will continue to walk

the same path over and over again

wondering why love keeps failing our hearts.

 

What we thought when young isn't the same as we age

to have the mind of a child as in adults

can only lead to roads of misunderstanding and abuse

 

I believe that goes with everything;

change must happen with religion, love, philosophy

 

The reason why we still kill in the name of God and have holy wars

is because we refuse to change our simple minded ways

 

I'm stuck in this way of thinking

that is all I know

 

We must consistently expand our consciousness

for if we do not,

we will be left in the state of always thinking

that there's something more to this thing we call life

 

Life goes on with or without you

I prefer to change with the changing of the seasons.
