That Part Of The Society

That Part Of The Society

I think it's time we talk about that part of our society.

Don't you?

That part of our society we ALL unknowingly know,

That part of our society no reputed person is ever supposed to go to.

That part of our society whose acceptance is nothing less than a crime,

But in the dead darkness, this is where our reputed men spend their time.

That part of our society with which we would never like to venture,

Yet it is crowded enough to not let even a fly enter.

Yes, I am talking about THAT part of our society.

Yes, I am talking about those women,

Yes, about those children of those women,

But mind you, I am not talking about those men.

Yes, about that word which we choose to use as the biggest slap for a woman.

Yes, about those women who are a shame for women.

Yes, about those children of those women who are impure because they don't fit in your idea of purity,

And talking about them is not in our sanctity.

But no, not about those men who go to these women.

You know why?

Because they are shameless women

And we are respectful men,

Posing for happy family photos in our dens.

But today, my dear respectful world,

I dare you.

I dare you to look at those men standing in front of those women in long queues.

I dare you to look beyond those skimpy attires,

And discover that even these women had some crushed desires.

I dare you to look beyond the forced sultry appearance,

And discover the issue’s real essence.

I dare you to ignore that holy broken knot,

And look at the purity their soul has got.

I dare you to look at those emotionless eyes,

And hear the silent cries.

I dare you to look at the dreams of those kids,

And laugh along at their innocent gigs.

I dare you to respect them,

No,  not because of their gender,

Not because of their profession,

But only for the sake of a fellow human's compassion.

I dare you not to make them devoid of basic human rights,

To not leave them in a cringeworthy sight.

Because I think it's time we talk about that part of our society.

Don't you?
