Thanatos--Mercy
Thanatos--Mercy
Ever thought what it would feel
Not to lie down on that dowdy bed
Wishing when you could
Take a breath of fresh air
Catch the morning rays
Flashing at your windowpane
And smile
Saying I am alive.
As humans, we play Thanatos.
Is it fair
Or is it sublime
Other people do it
Hence, we follow
An impersonator in our duties
Is it worth that we do so much
Or is it worth we do little
And let it be.
Lying tranquil on a bed
Comfortable as it may look
Hard, making it harder
To lie still
Writhing in pain
From inside
No one notices
All I can hear are whispers saying
“She is fine”.
Numb is all I know
No other word
Can match. Numb
Screaming is all I want to do
But my mouth open
And my throat hurting
The slightest sounds
Coming out of me
No on hears.
Trying to move my arms
But its is bound to
Cold steel railings
Touching my body
My wrists sore
Untie me
My body screams
I scream
I scream
Can anyone hear me
Can anyone see me
Can anyone hold me
I shout and shout
From within
But no one cares
They smile at me
Walk past me
But no one cares
I ask again
Can you hear me
Can you see me
Can you hold me
Let me be
Oh Please,
Let me be.
