Shadow

Shaded silhouette within,

engulfing depth,

Stretching as far as I regret,

The darkness pressed,

Against my chest,

Labored breath hushed from,

Remorseful lips,

Is this one’s idea,

of justice,

A harmful pursuit of happiness,

The mind convinced,

For returning to one’s earthiness,

Following a million footprints,

For this path is the one most travelled,

But now I see my shortsightedness,

Because now I am a shadow,

Rising shine,

From sky to sky,

The story of each morning,

For now I see,

The darkness fades,

Forged beginnings,

New light reigns,

A hopeful burn,

Falling scars,

A waning smear,

Twilight’s stars,

My sight is clear,

My mind is ready,

For now I see,

My breath is steady,

Renewed focus,

Like-minded and wide open,

A tendered touch,

knowing my fears,

will turn to dust,

Seeking old aid from my crafter,

A shepard’s steadfast hand to help,

A reminder that the first thing a God masters,

Is itself
