Serve The Purpose

He is so devotional during Devi Navratri,

But on remaining days he would never leave

A  chance to harass girls,

Are his rituals serving the purpose of Dusshera?

He never misses doing Lakshmi Puja on Diwali,

But he never wishes to have a daughter,

Are his deeds serving the purpose of Diwali,

Dussehra is celebrated as the victory of good over evil,

It might be killing of demon Mahishasura by Maa Durga,

Or It might be killing of Ravana who kidnapped Rama's wife,

What is teaching us?

Diwali is celebrated as the victory of good over evil,

Krishna and Satyabhama killed Narakasura,

Sixteen thousand girls who were put into jail by him were released,

People celebrated the occasion,

What are the lamps teaching us?

Be it Dusshera or Diwali,

Know their inner meaning,

Learn what we have to omit

And what we have to indulge to be a better human,

Mahishasura and Narakasura are in our thoughts,

Let us celebrate our festivals by knowing why they are celebrated,

Otherwise, they cannot serve more than

The purpose of shopping for discounts.
