Peevish Parrot
Peevish Parrot
How to teach my buddy
The fair tactics of love?
The fragile birdie behaves
Firmly stubborn never bows.
Refuses deliberately and knowingly
I will not give up too.
Though this buddy is playful
And full of pranks,
Fond of pecking here and there,
The inside instinct is philanthropic
But cannot outsmart my prudence.
I feel offering this buddy loyally
Everything, even then
Why doesn’t this parrot
Leave its treacheries, mischievous and bitterly sweet nothings?
O Parrot!
If you are adamant
I am equally obstinate.
Your extra carefree attitude
Will never ever get
The wings of liberty to
Leave me; your flights are not hidden
And your exposed self is dear to me.
My only wish now is never to feel free.
Yet free is what I want to feel
Be my loyal buddy
Shedding all fences and peripheries unnecessary.
