Old Flame
Old Flame
We talked after a long time
For me, she is a dime
But now that life is on a run
We are far apart like earth and the sun
She sounded gloomy about her work
I thought the meet would cheer her up
I also had some story to share
But listening to her talks was all I cared
I interrupted. I said that I missed her
She consoled me like times earlier
I thought we were there again
A happy togetherness dwelled in me then
As I let the thought of ‘us’ settle in
I realised, it was all just a day dream
Though I missed her and said that clear
She never said “I miss you too dear”
For a moment I thought I would cry
But then I decided to let it go by
For she was happy and I should also be
But then a message beeped: “missing you already”
The mobile went blur with tears in my eyes
“would never let her go”, promised I
Grabbed my phone to call her in a haste
And then a message flashed: “Sorry, sent by mistake”
