Oblivion

When we are but back to ground

And dust from whence we came

Our footprints will still be around

In the songs of our fame

Our legacies we'll leave behind

In the monuments raised from mud

In the shattering brilliance of mind

And the battles we won in blood

Our triumph will pass on

Through generations to be numbered

Our work will never be gone

But will we be remembered?
