Night Bird

Night Bird

2 mins
6.9K

She was the bird who loved flying in the night sky

Crossing those clouds heading to the moon.

Seeing the moon she always forgot her nest.

She craved to feel it,

She knew it was way too far for her.

But ‘Wasn’t love like this?’ she had said and flew towards the moon.

And just when she thought she was rising,

SHE FELL.

Today, finally she was rising high.

She was hoping she could feel her love.

Then something changed

Her wings stopped and she started falling.

But it was not the clouds covering the moon which broke her

Instead, the moon started fading.

It was the first time she was actually rising in hope, in love.

If today the moon faded she would never be able fly again.

Her companions told her about the sunshine too make her fly, to save her life.

But sunshine was not what she wanted

The flames of sun burnt her scared her

And the moon always welcomed her.

Caressed her tender feathers with its light,

Brought a smile on her trembling lips,

Calmed her thudding heart, eased all her pains.

It was her remedy to all the sorrows.

Then why were they telling her about sinshine?

When in her entire life, all she cared about was the moonlight.

She was dying and today was her only chance to feel it.

Yes! She rose in love for the first time and last time

Because just when she was rising , she was hoping , it started fading

Then she was just started falling, falling hard, falling apart

But did not lose the sight of that fading moon even once.

Just when she touched the ground she smiled for the last time

looking at the moon and said, "Wasn’t love like this?"

And closed her eyes forever.
