Nature's Law

Nature's Law

One summer night,

As Mother

Earth

Gazed upon her creations

She came across

A leech

Talking to itself,

"Each day I

Fasten onto

Someone new,

Sucking the life

Out of them.

What if, I

Devour not blood

But fruits?

And flowers?

And leaves?

And grass?"

Mother

Earth, intrigued

Watches the leech

Intently,

Wondering what

It would do next.

It had slithered up a flower

And put its

Mouth into it.

Mother

Earth, then

Shut her eyes,

Threw her head back

And laughed.
