My Friend And I
My Friend And I

My friend and I one day had a talk
It was morning and we had a walk
Involved deeply, we hardly knew
The lane taken was used by a few
Suddenly two dogs pounced on us
Terror gripped, we ran to a nearby bus
We jumped inside, my friend following me
Little did I realize how safe he kept me
Perceiving that he is in danger
Flashing teeth, I could see the anger
I am being ahead he was the second
Growling the dogs came not ready to bend
For me, I understood how much he cared
Not my friend said he
The dog, he challenged and dared
I still remember his hand bleeding with pain
In his quest to defend
He had the canine
That I’m safe brought a smile on his face
It could only be my friend who brought a smile on my face
