My Fears Talk To Me...

At the strike of Midnight

During the flickering of Light

My fears talk to me

When difficult task lie before me

When there is an unexpected situation I can't foresee

My fears talk to me

"You can't do it!" they say

"You are horribly trapped and there's no way!"

My fears control me at times

They blur my vision and block my mind

They make me believe whatever they see

They bring my courage down to its knees

They make my insecurities their greatest strength

They break me by going to any length

But here's a thing about my fears

They are my foes and they are peers

They stop me from doing foolish things

Whenever my ego flies high they cut its wings

They help by keeping me grounded

It is because of them that I am bounded

Once being frustrated I told them to show their face

I was shocked to look into a mirror instead...
