Miles To Go

Miles To Go

1 min
668

Darkness punctuated by an orange glow,

Fields going by in a blurry haze,

As listless clouds give lazy chase,

There are many miles to go...

A tumultuous creek does dance below,

The tracks humming their melancholic song,

While the train chugs steadily along,

There are many miles to go...

The moon does a quick peek-a-boo show,

Hiding swiftly in the silver clouds,

Shadows becoming mysterious shrouds,

There are many miles to go...

Cool night winds do gently blow,

All birds retired to their leafy homes,

While the listless soul still aimlessly roams,

There are many miles to go...

Thoughts in the mind- of tomorrow,

Wondering what will be in store,

An exciting day? A boring chore?

There are many miles to go...

As the train begins to gently slow,

Breaking my chain of thought flow,

Finally letting me know,

Home's at just a stone's throw

Now finally there are no more miles to go...
