Melancholy

Thought I was happy,

smiled a few days,

Went back to crying,

always in a daze.

Just want to be happy,

I'm shaking my head,

"Please, no go away!"

but, it never listened,

"Please happiness is all I want."

I said,

But sadness made its way, 

Back into my mind,

back into my soul,

All I ever wanted was happiness,

but then I realized, it never wanted me.

So now I live with this sadness because it wanted me.
