Maybe

Maybe

Maybe it's not the peace that I want,

Maybe it's the hustle that keeps me going.

Maybe it's not a holiday I aspire for,

Maybe I wanna work till am dozing.

Maybe it's not the pizza I crave for,

Maybe it's machine-made coffee that I like.

Maybe it's not the music that heals me,

Maybe it's the thumping of keys my soul dances on.

Maybe it's not the movie I like watching,

Maybe it's the presentation which I find entertaining.

Maybe it's not the life I wished for,

Maybe it's the life for which society made me work hard.

But I fail to understand,

When I made society's expectations my dream,

Then why does the society

Not calling me a winner

But tagging me as a workaholic

Maybe it's what I deserved

For paying heed to what society anticipates...
