Once a demon named Banasur

Opened his sword to fight against the Holy mother

In lust he lost the war.

At the moment of death

Leaving last breath, just before

Sinner Banasur folded hand and prayed the Mother.

Mother Parashakti granted a favour

Banasur was alleviated from all sins ever

Forgiven with a bath in Kanyakumari’s water.

To bath and wash all accumulated sin

Sinners come from every nook and corner

After the Sun comes bathed, dive into the water.

Black clouds from the Andamans

Came sailing in the morning sky

To shine, the Sun even did not try.

So, I could not see the awaited sunrise

With bottom of my pant, folded up

I stood in pain, from bottom to top.

Stayed, prayed and meditated there

Swami Vivekananda, sailing to the States, before

But I had been there as a mere tourist on the shore.

Just to please the senses at the sight of sunrise

I realised, how small my wishes were

I came spending thousands from a land so far!

As I had places to visit

I left my shadow at Kanyakumari’s shore

To invite me visiting with a purpose, greater.

Wish, I could be there for ever

Being born as crab I would bite my shadow’s finger

Pant folded up, who is still standing at the shore.
