Justice...

Justice...

This is a valiant tale where hundred people were killed by a single man

The entire nation became his fan

He was a soldier, he was a knight

The bravery he showed on the battlefield was the reason for everyone’s delight

“But didn’t he kill all those people, then why is he being awarded”

The little girl asked her father confounded

Her father replied “All those persons were enemies”

“-So you mean to say that they didn’t have families?”

The girl said stubbornly “They were like you, soldiers after all!”

“-They were on the line of duty, it was their call.”

Girl raising her eyebrows asked “Then answer this simple question of mine

Why is committing murder such a horrendous crime?

Hundred guilty people are liberated, to stop one innocent person from being prosecuted

Isn’t it enforcing the ideology, which for an individual seems better suited?”

The speechless father looked at those innocent eyes

Naïve as they sounded, the thoughts were wise

Trying to figure out the twisted ways of the world at their own pace

Maybe that’s the kind of existence that leaves behind traces

While there are curious questions

There would always be hope in novel perceptions

Father looked at his daughter with pain and pride

“I’m myself in a dilemma, how can I be your guide?”

Every person carries in his heart, his own sense of justice

Contemplating he reciprocated “Maybe that’s the cause of injustice!

Morals have always been discretionary

From person to person they vary

And that my dear is indeed the harsh truth

While justice is dynamic, the law is codified in a statute.”
