India In 74 Years

India In 74 Years

74 years since independence

Still freedom is what we want to get

Freedom to celebrate

When a girl child takes birth

And letting herself educate

With full joy and merth

Freedom to take admission

In the course we like

But there's a system of reservation

Which snatches the worthy's right

Freedom to put on

The clothes girls choose

Want to have nocturnal travel

But there's hanging an insecurity noose

Freedom to live

The life we have in our dream

But poverty, social barriers, lack of proper education and healthcare

Make us only sob and scream

Freedom to make the day

When ever child hoists flag in their school

Not like today

When children runs for selling the tricolour at traffic jams

And you ignore thinking

"It's cool."
