In Search Of Dawn

Years underneath your wings

I have hid,

Shielded from the world outside.

Yet now, I rise

From behind these walls.

I am blinded.

 

Helpless, I fumble, trying

To return to you.

But in vain.

You have flown away

To a realm far away--

Too far.

 

Yet like a million warm touches,

Your memory remains

To guide me

Far away from here

To the new world

Where the others have gone.

So, for one last time

Holding your hand,

I travel 

To the edge of this realm

And another.

I am amazed.

 

Wiping my tears away 

With a soft hand,

You carry me across

And as my feet hits the ground,

I look around,

Searching for words.

Of return, 

I fade away.

Lost in the dark night

Like a million others

In search of the dawn.
